Gambit Esports announced the transfer of Abai HObbit Khasenov to its CS: GO roster. He will play for Gambit Youngsters. The announcement was published in the command group on VKontakte.
Management noted that the roster will consist of six players – this model will be tested in the next six months. The management also said that the Youngsters postscript will be removed after the team gains a foothold in the top 30 of the HLTV.org rating. Currently, Gambit Youngsters is ranked 28th.
HObbit represented Gambit Esports from October 2016 to November 2018. As part of the team, a player from Kazakhstan became the champion of PGL Major Kraków 2017. After leaving Gambit, Khasenov spent five months at HellRaisers and nine months at Winstrike Team.
CS: GO analyst Alexander Petr1k Petrik commented on the transition of Abai HObbit Khasenov to Gambit Youngsters. He believes that Khasenov will strengthen the current composition of the team.
“About The Hobbit as the sixth player in Gambit …
And there were cases in the global CS when the model of a team of 6 players led to rotation of players from tournament to tournament, good competition, and not to the subsequent kick of one of the players and a return to the model of 5 people?
As for me, Abai is what these young guys need. They were already playing well, but in important moments they lacked an experienced fighter. And the Hobbit also plays very cool, so it’s a 100% squad boost and a cool transfer. What’s the point in keeping him sixth? “
