The new captain of the Team Dignitas CS: GO roster, Adam friberg Friberg, spoke about the departure of Christopher GeT_RiGhT Alesund and Richard Xizt Landström from the team. In an interview with the team portal, he noted that it was an initiative of the club’s management, but the players understood the need for replacements.
According to friberg, Dignitas’ previous lineup could have performed better on LAN, but in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, it is impossible to predict when the scene will return to its previous rhythm.
“Together with GeT_RiGhT and Xizt, we tried everything we could to achieve the required level of play: changing captains, rearranging positions a bit and revising strategies – whatever. Unfortunately, none of this helped. The decision to replace was made not by the players, but by the management, although many understood that something had to be done. It’s always unpleasant to change the line-up, but I think everyone understood why we went for it. “
Friberg added that Dignitas has already started considering candidates to replace GeT_RiGhT and Xizt, but the team is not yet ready to name potential members of the roster.
“We are looking for players who would be comfortable playing in the positions we need. I don’t think the roles in CS: GO are still as important as they were five years ago, but it would be nice to find a defensive midfielder or, for example, a player to watch the flanks in attack. However, we choose not only experienced players – it is quite possible that young talents will suit us as well. Let’s see what will happen next”.
GeT_RiGhT and Xizt left the Dignitas starting lineup in mid-September. Club representatives noted that they will support both players in their search for new options for continuing their careers. Alesund and Landstrom have played for the team since its formation in January 2020.
