Football competitions suspended in Brazil – CS-GO major to be held in May in May

The Brazilian Football Federation has announced that it is halting all national competitions due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the federation decided to hold all matches without spectators, but now it has changed its mind. This was reported by the newspaper L’Équipe.

If other federations follow the example of the BFF, then the government may cancel the CS: GO ESL One Rio 2020 major, which is scheduled for May 11-24. At the end of April, regional minors are also due to pass in Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier, a restriction on mass events was introduced in Sweden, where The International 2020 is to take place. On March 12, due to the threat of the virus spreading, ESL studio canceled the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 major by Dota 2. On March 16, Valve also refused to host EPICENTER Major 2020 and OGA Dota PIT Minor 2020.
