Tournament operators ESL and DreamHack told about the punishment teams will incur for using a bug by coaches in CS: GO. The teams will be disqualified from the championships, and will also lose prize money and ESL Pro Tour points.
According to the rules, Hard Legion Esports will lose the third place at ESL One: Road to Rio for the CIS, where the team earned $ 6,000 and 1,400 RMR points. Heroic will be disqualified from DreamHack Masters Spring, where the team stopped at 9-12 lines. MIBR will lose 7-8 places on ESL One: Road to Rio for North America and $ 2,000 with 950 RMR points.
It became known on August 31 that the coaches of Hard Legion Esports, Heroic and MIBR used a bug with observer mode. Mentors received different blocking periods – from six months to two years.
Hard Legion Esports is organizing its own investigation of allegations against coach Alexander MechanoGun Bogatyrev of using a bug on ESL One: Road to Rio CS: GO. The organization announced this on the official page on VKontakte.
Representatives of the esports club said they would contact Heroic and MIBR – the coaches of these teams were also banned for using the bug.
“In the very near future, we will conduct our investigation into the ESL statement with the coach of our team. There have been serious accusations against our organization and we would like to raise this topic in the community. Our organization will contact the teams (MIBR, Heroic), which are also accused of using bugs, and we will clarify the circumstances of this issue until the end. “
The Heroic organization began an internal investigation into the situation with the blocking of the roster coach Nikolai HUNDEN Petersen at ESL and DreamHack tournaments for using a bug with the observer mode in CS: GO. The club announced this on the official website.
The organization also reached out to Valve and the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) for details. The club declined to comment on the situation and promised to answer all questions after the completion of the investigation.
